You might check out V (http://www.objectcentral.com/vgui/vgui.htm) - it's
a gui toolkit that supports X, Windows, and OS/2 similar to WxWindows, but
if I remember correctly it included a sample program that could output
files to xbm, bmp, and xpm formats... Hope this helps.
