Very Computer

I'm seeing a lot of positive feedback regarding the new XFree86 3.2.

I'm running MetroX with a Matrox Millenium,  and  wonder  if  it's  worth  the
bother to switch to XFree86.

Has anyone tried these combinations?  How much better/worse it XFree  at  this
stage with the Millenium?

possibly, but for Trident chipset users, it's a no-brainer... the xfree
software has steadily improved, there are betas released regularly, and
each release seems to include support for more and more video cards... how
those xfree86.org folks do it, i'll never know!
