XF86Config: 'EarlySC','BlankDelay' options gone?

Post by Steve Chauvi » Wed, 23 Oct 1996 04:00:00

I've got an S3 964 PCI video card, very similar to Diamond's in
design I believe.  Having 2 problems, first the cursor is off
by 8 pixels to the right, and second I'm getting left-edge pixels
on the right at 1024x768 and 1280x1024.

Playing with xvidtune I found I could fix the cursor problem
and the wrap around at 1024 by setting EarlySC, and fix the
wrap around at 1280 by changing BlankDelay 1 to 0.

Very pleased, but...

Trying to set these options in XF86Config in the Display
subsection, X reports "Expected Display Subsection option".
Checked the man page for XF86Config, and they are listed
as valid options for XF_S3, so what gives?

Thanks for any and all help.

1. '-i' option for 'cp' and 'mv'

I am using a system running System V on a 386 machine.  In 4.3 bsd, 'cp'
and 'mv' have the option '-i' which will warn me if the file exists.
In the system I am using, only 'rm' has such an option.   I would like to change
it so that '-i' will work for 'cp' and 'mv' as well.  Can someone tell me how to
do it?

Many thanks
