Looking for somebody who can run "linux REDHAT" in a "77e" monitor.

I have installed "linux Red Hat 5.2" on my computer "intel celeron 400",
 but I have a problem when I run X.
In fact I have a very bad display.
When I run "Xconfigurator", my graphic card "SIS 6326" is recognised but
my monitor "ACER 77e" isn't.
I'd like to know if someone has already correctly configured  the
"XF86Config" file for this monitor type.
I would be very glad if  someone could send me this "XF86Config" file...

Thank's

Hey,

What we need for monitor configuration is mainly are
Horizontal frequency range, Vertical refresh frequency, and
the dot frequency.
You can use x86config program to set up your X system.
When the pgm asks for the monitor section choose
the customised (It is last in the choice item) one.
Then the pgm will ask the h-freq range, V-refr range
and dot frequency range. By selecting the correct value,
as given in the monitor specification, you X should work.

I had done this for my SAMTRON 4Bni monitor. In a similar way,
I have configured my video card SiS8c6215. I had the problem of
x86config not selecting the correct chipset.

hope this helps.

Hey!,

read x86config  as XConfigurator!, This was a mistake!,
Sorry for that!. Look at /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc for good README files.
(I suppose you are using RedHat Linux. The above path is RH linux).
