If you do
xdpyinfo | grep RENDER
it will return RENDER if supported.
In your case not.
What version of X are you using ? Check if a more recent version will
support it for your card at the Xfree86 site.
Otherwise the message is harmless enough.
BTW, a groups.google.com search with your exact subject header will return
a ton of hits . . . nudge, nudge, wink, wink. ;)

When I try to run kmix I get a message:
"Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":0.0"."
System is RH7.1 with kernel 2.4.5.
Any ideas?
