I just bought a PackardBell 7800 PC. Now I am trying to get
Linux running. The modem comes with the machine is "LT Win"
as reported by Win98 ControlPanel and the port it uses is COM1.
I want to know whether it is the notorious "Winmodem". Is it possible
for me to use PPP on this modem?

wisecom sends an external modem called Internet 56000 voice modem
serial number Ws-5614ES3GKV
is it a real modem which works on linux ?
