MemBase for Cirrus Logic 5434 wanted

Post by Kurt L Anders » Mon, 09 Jan 1995 13:55:02

I'm trying to figure out the MemBase parameter for my
Cirrus Logic 5434 card with 2MB (PCI).  I need this to get >8bpp.
This card came with my Quantex P90, so if another Quantex
owner has figured this out, please tell me.

If you know how to go about figuring this out, I would
greatly appreciate this.

I saw something about PCIDUMP.EXE, but nothing is said
about where to find it.

I've got a similar problem with my ASUS motherboard and CLGD5434 Alpine
2MB PCI-board.

Please read  Config.P9000 (if I remember the file name right) where
the e-mail address is given to get the PCIDUMP.EXE utility. BTW, I
tried PCIDUMP.EXE on my system, but it didn't help much :(

That's exactly what it said when I ran PCIDUMP to try to get the MemBase
for my 2MB Kelvin.  I've never been able to get 16-bpp mode working.

Try MemBase     0xA0000000.

It works with my 2MB Kelvin, but it's a VLB card. I don't know if that makes
a difference. Also, my card works fine in 16 bit mode.

Tried that.  Tried every multiple of 0x08000000 in fact.

My card works fine in 16-bit mode too, but only in MS-Windows.  :-(
