You'd be better off running Linux and XFree86. It is SO much faster than
(commercial) program like Exceed and has many other advantages:
eg. it's free, it's fun, does not suffer from frequent crashes, does not
suffer from 16bit WinGDI limitations, has dynamic screen mode
switching...

You can (just) fit what you need in 60MB disk space. I am running in
16MB RAM
and no swap partition.

Considered bad Netiquette to request this... unless a good reason is
given,
it implies the user has just "dropped in" to ask a question and is too
lazy
to stay, read, and contribute to the newsgroup.

1. Want to run CDE 1.0.2 on my PC XTerm software

I'm currently running CDE on Xoftware 5.0 on NT 4.0 (a PC XTerm package) from
an AIX host and it works just fine.

I'd like to, however, run CDE off of my Solaris box instead.  It does a couple
of wierd things, however:

1.  Sometimes it will just core when trying to start up with the following
command line:

/usr/dt/bin/dtwm -display foo:0

2.  When it does start, the colors are all messed up.  I try to get to the
desktop configuration tool and the "busy light" on the toolbar just blinks at
me for a few seconds and the window never opens up.

Any ideas?

Replies by e-mail would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Bryan C. Everly
