Howdy,

Try running Xconfigurator --server SVGA and follow the bouncing ball...
I had to run startx -bpp 32 to get more colors.... I think... :-)

no, it's startx -- -bpp 32
change 32 to the color depth you want, ie 8, 16, 24, 32
you can also use CTRL-ALT-+ (numpad) in X to switch resolutions.

Yes, I used XF86Setup (the setup utility that goes into X mode) to set
it up and it ran fine at 1280*1024*16bpp.  It flies too...  just use the
XF86Setup config tool instead of XF86config or XF86configurator(only
comes with RH, I believe).

Anybody got X to work in 1152x864 mode on the TNT (Viper 550)? Whatever
bpp I try this in the screen is green and messed up.

1. Creative Labs RIVA TNT card?

Hi,

I'm using a Creative Labs RIVA TNT card with 16Mb RAM. Xconfigurator
doesn't show
the RIVA TNT card, but does show a RIVA128. I tried that one and it
doesn't seem to
work. Might I need to get a newer version of Xconfigurator and XFree86?
I've got
Redhat 5.2 with the default 2.0.36 kernel as of now. Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks..
