Modelines for NOKIA 447X

Modelines for NOKIA 447X

I've configured XFree for my Diamond Stealth 3200 video card and
NOKIA 447X 17" monitor and all the standard modes work fine.
But...as I only get 256 colors on 1280x1024 and have to go down
to 1024x768 to get 65k colors, the system isn't optimal yet. :(

Does anyone have a modeline for the XF86Config that would give
me 1152x864 resolution with the above hardware?
Would be much appreciated. :)

Sure.

Modeline "1152x864"    110    1152 1200 1392 1448   864  870  872  907
You'll probably want to use xvidtune to fine-tune it for your monitor.

1. Enclosed: ModeLines for Nokia 447X & Mach64

Nokia 447X & ATI Mach64
-----------------------
I've been asking around for help recently on this particular combination
and had several people request me to notify them of any successful results.
I spent a lot of time head-banging with this to get real solid results, so
I figured someone else out there may be in a similar situation.
(I'm using the Graphic Pro Turbo, 2MB VRAM, PCI with the new XF86_Mach64
server, RAMDAC 68886, results with other combos may vary ).

Here's what I found:

1024x768:
Apparently there is no way to take full advantage of the refresh of this
monitor with this particular card.  At 90Hz the card uses a DotClock of
100 which X doesn't seem to recognize.  It does recognize DCL 110, which
would give an amazing refresh of 100hz, but this is too much for the
monitor.  So the highest apparently is 75Hz with a DCL of 80.

Use for all:
Bandwidth   140

HorizSync   31-82
VertRefresh 50-110

Here's the best I've found for 1024x768:
#  1024x768, 61.96 kHz, 75 Hz V
   Mode "1024x768"
      DotClock   80.8
      HTimings   1024 1048 1200 1304
      VTimings   768  777  785  817
   EndMode

1280x1024:
Here, the max output of both the card and monitor co-exist pretty well at
a dot clock of 135. I can get a pretty solid 1280x1024 at 75Hz with this:
#  1280x1024, 80.0 kHz H, 75Hz V
   Mode "1280x1024"
      DotClock   135.0
       HTimings  1280 1331 1467 1688
       VTimings  1024 1022 1036 1067
   EndMode

I haven't really messed with the lower resolutions, but I've had good
results with these two.  Thanks to all the people that gave me different
ModeLines (these two are probably from somebody out there ).  Thanks to Rick Niles for posting a really cool how-to on
ModeLines and thanks to Kevin Martin for solving the wavy line problem,
and of course to the XFree people for finally making me glad I got this
card!

By the way here's the Dot Clocks I'm using: (sams as from X -probeonly)
50.35  56.64  63  72  40  44.9  49.5  50
   0   110  126  135  0  80  75  65
25.18  28.32  31.50  36  20  22.45  24.75  25
  0    55    63  67.5  0   40  37.5  32.5
