Q: Does RedHat3.0.3 w/ MetroX support #9 Imagine 128?

I just bought #9 Imagine 128 Series 1 and I was wondering if MetroX
bundled with RedHat 3.0.3 supports that card.

1. No Realtek8029 support in Redhat3.0.3 - please help.

G'day and hello,

By my standards, I'm a bit of a newbie at this Linux stuff but the
never-ending learning continues. If any of you kind people can help with
this question, I would be very thankful.

My Redhat Linux v3.0.3 uses kernel 1.2.13. and was installed on a DX4-100
with 16bit NE2000 clone. I upgraded the m'board & LAN card and all works
except the LAN.

I have an Acer ALN-201 PCI ethernet card which uses the Realtek 8029
I have looked in the archives and found that kernel 2.0.x supports the
RealTek 8029 chipset in the ne.c driver file.

The messages on boot are:
 pcibios_init : PCI BIOS revision 2.10 entry at 0xfb360
 Probing PCI hardware
(Other unknown PCIs which I think are IDE & VGA)
Unknown PCI Device. PCI Vendor id=10ec. PCI Device id=8029
Followed by an inability to find the network card etc....

Can I just get the new ne.c file and recompile my kernel? Should I upgrade
the whole kernel and if so, should it be Redhat source or can I source an
upgrade via ftp from elsewhere?
