NVidia 0.9-5 drivers source

Post by Atanas Gueorguie » Sat, 28 Oct 2000 04:02:16

Can anyone point me to a location where I can download
the sources for NVidia 0.9-5 drivers source?  All I've been
able to find files called *.src.rpm which contain tarballs of
the binaries plus the Makefile.  No sources whatsoever.

We are going through a nightmare trying to get 3D
acceleration on a Diamond Viper 550 on an ASUS
motherboard (don't quite remember the model, but
the chipset is 440BX/ZX).  The machine is running
Red Hat 6.2 with a 2.2.16 kernel.

If anyone has done anything like that (I saw a number
of earlier posts), please, help.

Check the NVIDIA ftp site here

 ftp://ftp1.detonator.nvidia.com/pub/drivers/english/XFree86_40/0.9-5

There are .tar.gz sources in here. Note that the actual accelerator code is
distributed as object files, but the kernel wrapper is in source If I remember
correctly.

The kernel drivers are open source, but the GL libraries and glx extension
are closed source.
