How to setup XFree86 for Gateway Vivitron700 monitor and ATI Mach64 GT?

Hi, there. I got a Gateway 2000 with on-board ATI Mach64 264GT chipset.
The monitor is Vivitron700. I tried to setup XFree86 ver. 3.2. The mouse
and keyboard work OK, but I have no way to setup the monitor.
Is there anybody who have experience setting this kind of monitor?

1. ATI Mach64 & MAGDX17F Monitor with XFree86-3.1.1

I have ATI Mach64 (Graphics Pro Turbo) with 2 meg VRAM and
MAGDX-17F 17" monitor. I am running XFree86-3.1.1. (kernel 1.2.6)
I have tried several Xconfig files, but I can't get it to work at all.
Well, I would say it works at 640x480 (if I choose XF86_VGA16) as server,
if I choose XF86_Mach64, it does not work. The image is blurred,
I can't see the letters clearly, etc etc.

What I need is to be able to run X at 1024x768 and 1280x1024.

By the way, on the dos side, I can run windows at 1280x1024 without
any problems.

If somebody has the same setup and has successfully ran the above
resolution, I would very much appreciate to get a copy of the
Xconfig file.
