No XF86Setup in 4.0?

No XF86Setup in 4.0?

Post by <sdae.. » Wed, 15 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I've just finished compiling XF86 4.0 on my Slackware Linux box.  After
the install finished, I noticed that there isn't any XF86Setup in the
/usr/X11R6/bin directory.  Is this a mistake, or is XF86Setup acquired
elsewhere?

They have not updated XF86Setup program yet.  Right now the only way to
configure your X  in 4.0 is to use "xf86config" which is text based or type
"XFree86 -configure" and it does an "automatic" configuration, but you will
have to adjust your resolution manually.

No there isn't a XF86Setup anymore.

And to all slackware 7.0 users, you can get XFree 4.0 from:

        ftp://packages.linuxmafia.org/pub/Slackware-7/xfree86-4.0/

The release notes at least say, there will be and the guys are already
working on it.
