Do I need a special driver for linux for my MGA-64  Matrox Impression?
any help would  be greatly...appreciated...
Sid Van DEn Heede: Do you know of any ftp site for Windows Matrox Video
drivers? I know they have a BBS in France but i would like to download
new drivers via ftp....(saves me phone bills)...thanx...

   You don't need any special drivers for Linux but you do if you want
to run X. XFree86 does not support Matrox cards but there is a very good
commercial X-Server from X-Inside called Xaccel, which supports Matrox
video boards. Check out ftp.xinside.com or http://www.xinside.com. The price
is $99 for Linux users.

   You don't need any drivers for Linux, but if you want to run X you do.
XFree86 does not support Matrox boards but there is a very good commercial
X server from X-Inside called Xaccel, which does. Check out ftp.xinside.com &

matrox card. There was an advertisment in the linux
journal last year.

Matrox doesn't have an FTP site, but you can call them, they will send you
the drivers free of charge, if you have problems, mail me, I'll download
them, and mail them to you....
