Can't Get Colors on rxvt

Can't Get Colors on rxvt

Post by kvle » Tue, 11 Jul 1995 04:00:00

I would like to get color directories on rxvt, but I can't.  In my
.Xsession file, I set up various rxvt windows where the geometry and the
font (courier) was defined, however, I am not getting any color
directories.  Is there just some variable that must be set or is something
I am going preventing the rxvt.  I am also using twm.

Please send help to this account.

Thanks,
Ken

Can't Get Colors on rxvt

You can get rxvt or xterm to display the color-ls listing if you
start either with a -ls. This starts them with a login shell. By
doing this the shell rereads your profile and uses the color
diffinitions.

example  rxvt -font 10x20 -ls &

1. why doesn't xterm show colors(rxvt does)

Hi i like the xterm but it laks of color support
why doesn xterm display the colors right?

lynx , aumix are displayed in black/white
while on the console or rxvt they look much nicer?
