gnome/Enlighten question about focus

Post by Douglas Nichol » Thu, 29 Jul 1999 04:00:00

I have played with the Enlighten setup( I'm using gnome
desktop) in many configurations and cannot figure out how to
get selected icon from the panel or the page to come to the
top of the stack when selected or get the window to come to
the top when I select it from the task list. There must be a
file somewhere that has a setting that I can edit that would
tell gnome/Enlight to bring the selected window always come
to the top and take fous when I select it from the above
mentioned?

I think kde does this so I assume it is a function of the
windows manager....

Thanks!

Doug,

Not only do I have the same problem, but what drives me crazy is that it
used to work before! I have no clue on how to get it working again.

Good luck!

Ike.

This is a bug in some version numbers of Enlightenment, including
the one shipped with RedHat 6.0.  Upgrade to a newer version to cure
it.

I upgraded both the Gnome AND enlightenment files yesterday - still no
go.
What is the exact option to choose to get this enabled?

It's not mentioned in any of the FAQs, the help link at the homepage is
broken and the mailinglist archive is gone. The only place i find it
mentioned is on an outdated "todo" list :/

1. GNOME kb focus

How can I set GNOME to accept keyboard input for window menus.  In other
words, when I open a window I can use the mouse to click an item on the menu
bar (e.g. File/Exit), but when I try using the keyboard there's no response
to Alt + F or any other combination I've tried.

I thank you in advance for any help.
