I'm having trouble getting the xview clients (cmdtool, shelltool)
to use the /etc/printcap. All the other xterm'ish clients have
no trouble. Everything works in slack1.2/2.1 for me but not
with slack2.3.
The symptoms are that whatever i put in the termcap when I start
a client it makes up its own mind what should go in the TERMCAP
variable.
I can get round this by starting the client with -I to set
the TERMCAP explicitly AFTER the client has started, but this is messy.
I'm wondering whether the clients (or something else) are broken and are
putting
their own default values in TERMCAP.
Can anyone throw any light on this ?
