Debian hamm distribution, XFree86 3.3.2-4
Pentium II 233MHz on a Gigabyte 440LX motherboard
Generic S3 775 (Trio 64/V2 DX) PCI video card
SVGA driver will show 640x480 screen plus the cursor, then hangs solid
during FVWM2 load.
S3 driver switches to black screen at the right scan frequency, but
ignores all keyboard input except for CTRL-ALT-DEL.
Any clues? I was told about 6 months ago that the S3 driver didn't like
the LX motherboard chipset, and it was fixed in the code that would become
3.3.2, and had been using a borrowed Cirrus Logic card until the new
version came out.
