xfree86 4.0

Post by John Gordo » Tue, 25 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any rpms availiable for the 4.0 release? And
if so where?
I'm having rouble getting the install script of the binary distribution to
work. It just gives me some strange errors (as though the syntax is wrong)

Thanks
john

There are XF4.0 rpms in the redhat-rawhide distribution.  I haven't tried
them myself, though

There are RPMs at redhats (www.redhat.com) site, and mandrakes
(www.linuxmandrake.com/en), but how about posting a few error messages
here, it's possible the errors are quite simple to fix? On my mdk7.0
upgrading to 4.0.1 was easy using the install script.

1. KStatusBar core dump - XFree86 4.0 + FreeBSD 4.0

Using kdevelop and a simple test application: clicking on File -> Close
results in a core dump.

The back trace looks as follows:

(gdb) bt
#0  0x283035a2 in QGList::first () from /usr/X11R6/lib/libqt.so
#1  0x281304f3 in KStatusBar::changeItem () from /usr/local/lib/libkdeui.so.3

    at ktest.cpp:596
#3  0x8052a8e in KtestApp::slotFileQuit (this=0x807db00) at ktest.cpp:528
#4  0x80533a9 in KtestApp::commandCallback (this=0x807db00, id_=10090)

Similar core dumps when exiting a KDE app happen at other places too.
