You have to edit the file /etc/inittab to allow dial-ins. That means
you have to say your system to answer incoming phonecalls. Therefore
you need a line like this:

d1:23:respawn:/sbin/bgetty -hit60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 modem

After this you have to send the initprogram a SIGHUP:

kill -1 1

This makes init to reread the configurationfile,

You can setup your server for UUCP connections.  I also heard
of mgetty or whatever its called although I'm not sure how it works.
Hope this helps.  :-)

1. Problems with dialing out when dial-ins are enabled

I'm having trouble getting dial-outs to work when dial-ins are
enabled.  I can dial out on /dev/cua1 when getty isn't running
on /dev/ttyS1, but when getty is running I get a message that
the port I'm trying to dial-out on (/dev/cua1) is in use.  I
read the FAQs and everything seems to be set up right.  What
am I doing wrong?

[I'm running SLS 1.02 (0.99pl9).]
