ATI Rage 3D IIC Video card Setup

ATI Rage 3D IIC Video card Setup

We got some New Linux PC's (Viglen PC 333Mhz) running Redhat 5.1, with ATI Rage 3D Video cards
about 3 months ago, I set these up and the video worked fine.  We got some more PC's
(Viglen Genie 11, 300MHz) with the same spec of video cards, so I was told but these did not show
the video setup properly, it turned out the video cards were a slightly different chip spec, the
older ones were :-
ATI Rage 3D II - chip id 0x4742
the newer ones :-
ATI Rage 3D IIC - chip id 0x475a (which won't work with XF86_Mach64 I am told).

Thanx to `Marc Aurele La France`, I was able to get a setup for all my PC's which works for the
newer chip, here is the relevant parts from /etc/XF86Config, using the XF86_Mach64 driver from
XFree86 (latest I have is from RedHat) :-

I've got the higher resolution commented out because the text in the xterms get too small, I know
I could make this larger, but I am not setting up every users personal preferences.

Hope this posting benefits anyone out there struggling with these new video cards the way I have.
