Help needed for making XFree86 server from source tree

Help needed for making XFree86 server from source tree

Hi all,
    I am running RedHat 7.2, which ships with XFree86 4.1.0, which does NOT
support the ATI Radeon VE.
    I heard that the latest source tree of XFree has support for my Radeon
VE, so I downloaded the source tree through CVS by the command:
        cvs checkout xc
    My question is: how do I build and install from the source files?  I
tried
        make World
    and then
        make install
    The result is "make install" would die midway.
    All suggestions/comments are appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
