: Have anybody had this problem before?
: X works well when I start it with 'startx'. The x-programs starts as
: they shall. But I can't start x-term!
: When I exit X, I see that everytime I tried to start x-term the computer
: complained about 'No more ptys'.
: Are there any easy solutions to this problem?

I have encountered this similar problem. I think it is because the device is not in the /dev directory
You can try this:
(1) login as root
(2) go to /dev directory
(3) type this command: MAKEDEV ptyp
that should do the job.
