I have problems with X-windows on a machine with a SIS 6250 SVGA
videochip. The videochip is part of the motherboard. Does anyone knows
what driver to use, e.g. XF86_S3 or which?
Hope to get an answer.

this is a new chip for me... are you sure you don't mean SiS 6205?
support for this chip is included in the latest beta releases starting from
3.1.D
the newest version of XFree 3.2A claims to have great support for the SiS
6205 (I have not tried it yet)

1. Linux not detecting SiS 6250 display card
I'd like to know if there's a way for Linux to detect the Sis 6250 display
card. I've tried Red Hat and it has stubbornly refuse to detect this card
and won't go into KDE environment.
