Installing XFree86 on DosLinux

Hi,

When I tried extracting Xbin.tgz and Xlib.tgz using mc in my attempts
at installing XFree86, I got a bunch of errors and was told that the
extraction process was incomplete. Of course, I could not find or run
xf86config either. Thinking that I had downloaded an incomplete or
corrupted version of these files, I got them again with similar results.
(I think I was successful in installing DosLinux, however.)

Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

1. Problem installing Xfree86 on DosLinux

hello everyone,

I'm a newbie as far as linux is concerned, I succesfully installed DosLinux
v.86 and i wanted to install Xfree86 window System, but after downloading
its components and having installed them in /usr/X11R6 directory, i have
some problems running xf86config file: it says " /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86config
:no such file or directory ", although of course the file is there. What did
I do wrong??? I tried to run ldconfig to set the new libraries with the
following command: /sbin/ldconfig -n /usr/X11R6/lib and /sbin/ldconfig -v;
but I'm not sure that's the problem.
This might be a stupid question ;) but I'm trying to learn something
different from Bill's OSs so I'll be very happy if could help me in some
way.

TNX a lot to everyone ;)))
