Having trouble with Alt-F1 thru Alt-F5 in XFree86

Post by krmo.. » Sun, 23 Jul 1995 04:00:00

I'm using a slightly modified version of the 4Dwm.fvwmrc file which uses
that file's same keyboard mappings.  Unfortunately the Alt F1 to Alt F5 key
combos don't seem to work; if I'm using an xterm shell, these key combos
generate the interpreted characters to that window.  However Alt F6 and
beyond seem to work fine.  A sample line from my .fvwmrc is:

Key F4          WFST            M       Destroy

I'm using a standard AT-compatible 101 style keyboard on a 486 DX2-50
system.  If anyone has a clue to this problem, I'd appreciate some help.

1. ALT-F1 & ALT-F2 (many times) hangs Linux

I have a major problem with Linux 1.1.49 - 1.1.80 on my 486 DX2 66  with an ATI graphics Ultra Pro with
2 Meg Vram. When I try Virtual Screen Swapping (ALT-F1 ALT-F2) 5/6 times I get Hang the system.
Has anybody got an idea.

Thanks to anybody ;-)
