Mosaic/X can't load libXm.so.2

Post by Ulrik Hed » Tue, 16 Apr 1996 04:00:00

When trying to run the dynamic linked version of Mosaic/X 2.7b4 I get an error that
the library libXm.so.2 can't be loaded.

libXm.so.2 is not on my Slackware 3.0 distribution and I cant't find it on any of the
major FTP sites.

Can someone tell me where to find it ?

greetings

: the library libXm.so.2 can't be loaded.

libXm.so.2 is the Motif 2.0 shared library. Motif does not come with
slackware and must be purchased seperately. However, Mosaic also comes in
a form with Motif statically-linked in. If I remember correctly, there is a
README.linux file in the ftp directory where Mosaic 2.7b4 is found that
describes the different Mosaic files for Linux.

1. Mosaic: can't find library 'libXm.so.1'

I try to install Mosaic 2.4 (Mosaic-2.4.linux.tar.gz) binaries on Slackware 2 and
connect to the Internet means PPP.

Result:

% Mosaic
Mosaic: can't find library 'libXm.so.1'

It is possible to copy Motif libraries?

Thanks

Ciao
