PCI SiS 6326

PCI SiS 6326

Hello,

I have recently bought a PCI graphical board with SiS 6326 chipset and 8MB
memory for my old pentium.

At boot time the bios recognizes the right size of memory with a large logo
to announce it.

But later, when I probe the board with XFree86 (3.3.5 about), only 4 MB are
given.

Which one is wrong and how to get the four lost Meg  ?

I have one of those chipsets and I have been told that the 6326 can only
handle 4 megs.

More correctly, the 2D engine can only address 4MB.  In 3D, you can
get to the other 4MB for texture storage and the like.

I can find the correct driver for the card when running Xconfigurator.
But when the it try to test or startx...it failed!

I heard that I need to upgrade the XFreeServer to 3.3.5 or 3.3.6.

But the Big problem is how am I going to copy the files that I've
