Xwindows with graphical setup of buttons/icons on a 486

Ok....I hope you can help me with this.  I have a friend with a 486/66
with 16 megs of ram.  He wants icons on his desktop for netscape and
such.  He's a newbie and doesn't want to figure out text config files.
I don't blame him.  I can't hardly do anything with them.  I run KDE but
it ran poorly on a p166 with 32 megs of ram...had to go to 64 megs to
keep it from swapping to disk when I ran netscape, so I doubt this is an
option.  Are there any others out there?  What about AMI WM?
