HELP!

OK, I can get X 3.1.2 to run just fine under the SVGA library but when I
try to xf86config choosing the mach64 library the screen just blanks and
the CPU hangs when I try to run X. X -probeonly displays all the info
properly about my gfx card but it just doesn't work!

ATI Win Boost(?) Mach64 VLB
2MB DRAM
Clock: ATI-18818-1
RAMdac: STG1702

All my apps in DOS that support my MACH64 work just fine. Is there anyway
around this or do I just have to wait for a good X386_MACH64 library?

Here you go  Brian!
I hope this works for you.  

I have two words of advice.  Put the following in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 and
call it XF86Config    Make sure it is the only XF86Config on your system!!
Espically look for old ones generated by the config program in /etc

Get the updated mach64 server (u1) off ftp somewhere.  IT's all over the
place.

If all eslse fail download the whole a.out or elf Xfree verson 3.1.2 of
the net and install it over your Xfree 3.1.1

** Here it is.  Note the "MemBase 0x7800000" in the device section ** of the
Mach64
This is for a memory apature of (4mb at 120 Mb)  It says this in the dos
instaaliation section.  GOOD LUCK.  Let me know if this helps!

1. no_block_write & Mach64 locks-up. fix?

I got my Mach64 GPT 2MB VRam configured for X. It seems that my card
needs the "no_block_write" option, since Win/Warp both need it. X also
looks screwed w/o it. But about 98% of the time X locks up a few
seconds after it starts. If I remove the no_block_write it seems to
fix the problem of hanging, but then my screen is screwed.

So, is there a work around for this? I have Slackware 2.3 CD
distribution. Any suggstions would be greatly appreciated. BTW, this
happens in 1280x1024. I haven't tested lower resolutions.
