Hi all.  I just spent 12 hours grabbing this thing, but it won't run for
more than 15 seconds before:

I took the tarball, copied it to a temp dir, untarred it, ran the ./setup,
then tried to run it.  Any suggestions?

That's the problem: This release is a single user version (I don't
know, why they did this...).

You have two chances:
You can run the setup-programm as user root with option /net.
After that, each user have to start his own setup.
But this will waste much space for each user (I have read of 4-13MB).

I prefer the "AutoMultiUserSetupForSO40Linux" from Michael Hoennig.

You should read the license!!!!!!!!

Perhaps read these:

My guess is that when you installed the libraries, you installed them as root.
When you invoke soffice as root, it can read the libs. When you invoke it
as a user, it can't. Go to /usr/local/Office40/libs (or whereever your soffice
libs are and make sure that all the lib files have the same permissions, ie
world readable and executable.

At least that worked for me when I did it.

Good luck,

Patrick

OK, it works!

I used the "/net-option" and it workes fine.

Thanks a lot!
