Ghosting on 21" Sun Monitor

Ghosting on 21" Sun Monitor

I just finished installing Mandrake 7.2 on my dad's computer so he can
connect to work via a VPN.  He has a sweet, brand new 21" Sun monitor
to use.  His box is a dual-boot with Win98 SE.  The problem is that we
are getting some annoying ghosting in X.  Windows has no problems with
this, so I know that his video card (Riva TNT2) is capable of driving
the monitor.  We just can't seem to get X to behave.

Has anyone had any success with a similar monitor and/or video card?
Is there a way to get rid of all this ghosting?  We're using XFree
4.0.1, so I suppose I could upgrade to 4.0.2 to see if that fixes the
problem, but I'd prefer not to mess with that if I don't need to.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has solved similar problems
with similar or different hardware.

Are you using the nvidia binary module or the xfree nv module?
