vesafb & multiple XFree v4 resolutions

vesafb & multiple XFree v4 resolutions

Post by Dan Smit » Sat, 15 Dec 2001 12:14:38

I have XFree86 4.1.0 configged to use the vesafb device, which is set
by lilo at boot.  The OS did this for me (as I've not have experience
configuring version 4).  Well, this system is a laptop and I'd like to
be able to make X switch to a higher res when I plug into a monitor
(without having to reboot).  With XFree86 v3, I could set several
resolutions and use CTRL+ALT+{+,-} to switch.  Can someone help me get
something similar setup?

Slackware 8, kernel 2.4.14.

Thanks!
