I have install X11 on Compaq Deskpro 2000 with linux 2.0.27. I get it
to start fine but when I move the mouse it moves erraticly only on the
top border and then will return to the upper left corner. I have tried
different protocols and have all the possible mouse protocols in the
kernel. I beleive it is a bus mouse (round 5 pin plug). This is
frustarting. Can someone please help me?

Try "gpm -k" and see if that cures your problem. Enter the command
at the console prompt. If it works then modify your "/etc/rc.d/rc.local"
file to include this when you boot your machine. I've had that problem
as well with a serial mouse and this cured the problem.

Well that is different. I still am getting erratic movement and no
control. But it is different than before. Thanks for the help so far
and thank in advance for the help in the future.

1. Erratic Mouse Movement Problems
Hi:
I am connecting a Monitor, keyboard and Mouse to two RH72 workstations. The
mouse is MS Intellimouse. Actually both of these dual boot to W2k Server and
RH. On one machine everything is fine. On the other W2k fine. But on X
mouse goes all over the place some times. This happens especially if I
switch to the second machine for an extended period of time (like an hour).
I will have to restratX to get back to normal. Any suggestions?
