Screen size in fvwm??

Screen size in fvwm??

Post by sirrob » Sat, 27 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Okay i am SURE this is a stupid question :)
Anyway i am running fvwm and the desktop is BIGGER than my screen...
So when i take my pointer to the end of my screen it keeps going
for awhile because my desktop is bigger than my screen (did i say that
allready :))...Anyway is this a problem with the res i used when compiling
x and my kernel...or is it an fvwm settable option??
Thanks in advance
NOTE: it also does this on xdm and screenlock..
when i run xdm the loging screen shows up in the lower right hand corner
of my screen...I have to move my pointer to move the screen to
get it in the center :)

No, not a stupid question at all. In your xconfig file, there is a line setting
for
virtual 1024x768
or something similar. Just change that to the size you use.

You have several options to fix this:

You can go to the line in your /etc/XF86Config file and look for a
line that says something like 640x480 800x600 1024x768 and change it
so that the first set of numbers matches your virtual screen
resolution (usually the virtual line is several lines lower in the
file.)  ie, change it to 1024x768 800x600 640x480'

or, you can set your virtual desktop size to be the same as the
resolution you're running in (not the recommended way, IMHO)

G'luck!
