1. Mach 64 / Mag 17" Monitor - FAST modelines?

I've got a Mach 64 (2MB VRAM) and a Gateway 2000 17" monitor
(which is an OEM version of the MAG 17DXF).

I run X at 1152x900, with the following monitor section
(I got this from someone off the net who has the same config) --

Bandwidth   100.0
HorizSync   30-64
VertRefresh 50-100

ModeLine  "1152x909"  80  1152 1184 1344 1440  909 911 918 950

However, running 1152x900 like this shows noticeable flicker on
the screen.

How can I improve the refresh rate at this resolution?

I KNOW that it can be done, because Windows manages to do it
at 1280x1024 better than my XF86Config can!
