XFree86 on Apollo9

I can't seem to get my Apollo9 video card (from the HP-Apollo DN3500
workstation) to work with XFree3.1.1.  I'm sure I have the configuration
correct. But is there something that I don't know about?

Every time, I run it, I get a result of "IOT Trap".  I have a TVGA8900 and
an Apollo9 video cards plugged in my system. Am I suppose to disable the
Trident somehow or part of it(the hercules part)?  Am I suppose to use a
Hercules card?

When I run it, my VGA monitor goes blank and there's a flash on the
Apollo-Monitor. A few seconds later, the program dies.

Here's a process-trace of the XFree_Mono just before it gets that SIGSEGV
signal. Oh, BTW, I have 6Meg RAM plus 2Megs swap.

close(6) = 0
open("/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/cu".., RDONLY, 27777761320) = 6

brk(1c9000) = 0x1c9000
brk(1cc000) = 0x1cc000
read(6, "", 8192) = 0
read(6, "", 8192) = 0
close(6) = 0
 - [SIGSEGV]
sigaction(SIGSEGV, SIG_IGN, SIG_DFL) = 0
write(2, "\nFatal server error:\n", 21) = 21
write(2, "Caught signal 11.  Server aborti".., 35) = 35

Try the 3.1.2 version.  There are some bugs fixed in that version, and
at least one relates to this card.
