The only X mail program I use is tkelm. I still don't use
it very often. I normally just stick with elm.

1. Getting X to run (everybody's favorite past-time, it seems).
I got a "Diamond Stealth 64 Graphics 2001" PCI video card, with 2MB DRAM. The
monitor is a "GVC" model M1566LR. Although in Windoze the 1024x768x256 colors
resolution is not the highest I can do, I can't get X to come up with the
standard SVGA 800X600 config file. startx blanks the display, but that's
about it. Switching back via the ALT-F key reveals the following messages.
This is the Slackware 3.1 kernel, with the SVGA X server loaded:
