'more' and 'less' cause inverse video in xterms

Post by Dave Wres » Fri, 31 Mar 1995 04:00:00

Hi.  When using 'more' and 'less' in any xterm, it causes either the
line that 'more' is currently on, or the entire xterm window to go
inverse video.  So, after the first screen of paging, the rest of
the screen is either inverse video, or even underline sometimes
(like when reading a man page, and there are chars underlined).
Also, even jed in an xterm turns all sorts of colors.

Could this be a termcap problem? It is just the most annoying thing
I have had in a long while.

Please respond direct with any ideas, as my news access is very
slow.

Thanks much,
Dave Wreski

1. 'less','more' turn xterm inverse video

Hi... Hope this is the right spot for this.  When using either less
or more, the second page turns inverse video in an xterm.  I have
tried everything I can think of, but still no luck.  I have gotten
it so just one line turns inverse - the line that 'more' was on, but
it is still very bothersome.  Is there a minimal termcap entry or
someting that I could try for the xterm?  Where can I go about
checking for this?

Thanks,
Dave Wreski
