Xfree86 3.1.2 garbage on ATI MACH64

Post by dsa.. » Fri, 02 Feb 1996 04:00:00

I find that I can run xinit and start up any window manager. When I place
windows I get garbage lines that draw over everthing on the screen. Also
when using an xterm window scrolling sometimes makes all the text unreadable.

This is really bad. Almost unusable in X. Has anyone encountered this before?

Here is the config info for my system:

XFree86 Version 3.1.2 / X Window System
(protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6000)
Operating System: Linux
Configured drivers:
Mach64: accelerated server for ATI Mach64 graphics adaptors (Patchlevel 0)

1. ATI Mach64 PCIQ: ATI Mach64 PCI, Xwindow problems ?

You should install XFree86 3.1.  Its Mono, VGA16 and SVGA servers include
(unaccelerated) support for Mach64's.  For an accelerated server, you'll
have to wait until XFree86 >=3.2.
