Broken Cursor ??

Broken Cursor ??

Post by Kevin Martine » Sat, 04 Mar 1995 13:33:11

My friend has a Linux system running XFree 3.1 on a Orchid Kelvin card.
Setting up XFree went well except that his cursor is a black square
cloud. It does not change into a I-bar or arrow or even a spinning fish
in XV. It can still be used but it is hard to be precise or work
scrollbars, buttons, etc.  Changing window managers didn't help.

Where do I start on this one? I've found man pages for ncurses cursors
but not much else....

Thanks for any assistance!

            Status: NEW

Distribution: Debian sarge
Hardware Environment: IBM Thinkpad 600

Mar 25 20:04:58 gswi1164 kernel: Autodetected internal display
Mar 25 20:04:58 gswi1164 kernel: Panel is a 1024x768 color TFT display
Mar 25 20:04:58 gswi1164 kernel: neofb: mapped framebuffer at c6a0e000
Mar 25 20:04:58 gswi1164 kernel: neofb v0.4.1: 2048kB VRAM, using 1024x768, 48.361kHz, 60Hz

On a vc the line cursor looks like

Emacs uses a block cursor that is broken similar, the block
is broken by two vertical bars.
