PDF fileviewer // Acrobat???

Post by Andrew R. Tef » Thu, 20 Jul 1995 04:00:00

Acrobat: not for linux.
PDF viewing: aladdin ghostscript 3.33.

1. Using Adobe Acrobat for viewing pdf in Konqueror

RH 7.3, KDE 3.1.0

I have run into an obstacle in trying to get Acrobat to work as an embedded
viewer. I have installed the plugin (v5), and Konquerer finds it when I
scan for new plugins (Settings->Plugins->Scan for New Plugins). The plugin
is associated with MIME type application/pdf. So far, so good.

However,when viewing file associations for application/pdf (Settings->File
Associations->application/pdf->Embedding->Services Preference Order), I am
presented with only the choices of KGhostView and "Netscape plugin
viewer". If I then click "Add...", Acrobat does not appear as a choice.
How can I make Konqueror understand that I want to use Acrobat as the
embedded viewer? Is it known to be not possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
