Hello,
Recently I upgraded to Slackware 3.0 (which is in ELF format)
For me this meant:
Linux 1.2.13 -> Linux 1.2.13 ELF
GCC 2.5.8 -> GCC 2.7.0
XFree 3.0 -> XFree 3.1.2
I have some applications that I have written with some other students
for SPARC SUN stations. Quite some time ago, I managed to compile and
execute the user interface part of them under Linux (it involved
getting devguide libraries for Linux).
These executables no longer execute! As soon as I start them Linux
says "Cannot find shared library libxv3.so.3.0" (or something like
that).
I have tried:
A) to put all old libxv libraries from my old Linux distribution in
the same directory where the nex libxview (new name?!) libraries
are. Still the same error.
B) to recompile everything (after getting newer libraries which
were allowed by GCC 2.7.0 (LEDA 3.3 instead of LEDA 3.1.2).
I can start the program but get a "segmentation fault".
The programs used to run just fine.
Any suggestions?
can read news only once a week, while I can read e-mail every day.
Thank you for your time,
Rob Knubben
