xxgdb double printing

Why does xxgdb in Linux double print everything after the startup message.
This is Linux 1.2.13 / XFree86 3.1.2.

It looks like this:

XXGDB comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.

I haven't seen anything in the FAQs about it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

The solution to xxgdb double printing is to get the latest version from
ftp.x.org in /contrib/utilities.

Thanks go to Michael Fraley for the answer.
