Graduating from window by window display to whole Sparc5 window?

I have SLiRP PPP and dxpc compression showing individual Sparc5 windows (work)
on my home PC Linux running OK but I would like to know whether it is
possible to display the whole Sun window on the Linux screen with scaled
down windows that can be focussed and enlarged?
    I would like to know what the BEST practical situation is so that I can
head in that direction. ISDN is in my area if the band width is the problem.
Is it recommended to abandon Linux and buy an X terminal? If so,
any recommendations?

Monitor, or an X-workstation as my console. I was wondering if anyone
knows of any X-windows software which would allow me to read the
