Very Computer

Please help if you can......
I am trying to setup X on my linux machine.
I have printed and read the Man pages and how-to's.
Now, when I run ConfigXF86, it err's and loops continuously.
I get passed being asked abou the mouse.
When I get to the part about picking a video card,
the script starts doing the following:
1. card a
./ConfigXF86: [: too many arguments
2. card b
./ConfigXF86: [: too many arguments
..........
.....
invalid option entered....
Then, it loops over and over.....
what gives? It looks like the Pager() routine is going haywire.
I'm not that good with shell progs, so, where do I go from here?
