There is one called "cbb" on sunsite. It's pretty good, not great, but
still under development. Definately worth checking out. Here's where it is:

There are two I know of.  cbb is based on tcl/tk and perl, I don't know how well
it works.  The motif-based database xgrok is easy to set up for a checkbook
database -- the one I made up is in a group of examples the author provides.

It doesn't print the checks for you (neither does cbb, I gather), but it's
easy to keep up-to-date.

Al,

Try:  ftp.me.umn.edu:/pub/finance/cbb-0.52a.tar.gz

If you want to try before you "buy" (so to speak, since the program is
free) connect up to:  http://www.me.umn.edu/1/home/clolson
My home page contains a "live" demo of the program which you can run
(if you have X.)

Are there any checkbook balancing programs that are available
for Linux that don't require X to use?
I found the cbb checkbook program, but of course, you have to
        use it under X..
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
