I'm a newbie to all this, so please, be gentle.
I just set-up RedHat Linux with (the default) fvwm95-2 window manager. The
resolution is set at 1024x768, something my graphics card and monitor have
plenty of resources for.
The problem is that *everything* on the workspace is too small-- icon
bars, text, buttons, etc... The Xterm font Huge is barely big enough to
read. Netscape buttons are miniscule.
Yes, I can selective resize text in some cases (Netscape, Xterm, etc...)
but the size of everything on the desktop is too small.
I've used other machines at 1024x768 with no problems. But this size-thing
has been just another roadblock in my getting up to speed with Linux. My
eyes hurt after 5 minutes.
Are programs like Netscape, AOL Immediate Messenger, etc... hardcoded to
run at a set resolution? That doesn't sound reasonable.
(How) can I use these applications at 1024x768 and be able to see them?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Jim.
