I think you may have to add:    -T desired_title
along with the -name.

You can change the title on the fly using control codes (I
don't know them), but I found a neat program called xtitle
which does exactly this.

xtitle -b <Title>

puts a title both on the xterm and on the associated icon.
Use veronica or archie to find it - it's probably on sunsite.

Hope this helps,

Charlie

I believe he means after the Window has been started.  I wish someone
would post the right answer as I would like to know as well.

I have gotten the answer to this.  In case anyone else wants to know:

<esc>]0blah blah blah<ctrl-G>      to set the open window title
<esc>]1blah blah blah<ctrl-G>      to set the iconized title
<esc>]2blah blah blah<ctrl-G>      to set both

The title becomes the string between the 0, 1, or 2, and the <ctrl-G>.  Any
means by which you output the string to the console will work.  (I just use
'echo').
